OVERVIEW
In Tamon’s B-Side, Utage Kinoshita finds herself working as the housekeeper of Tamon, her favorite idol from F/ACE, the hottest pop group she follows in effusive fandom with her closest high school friends. Only IRL he’s not anything like what she expects! Shy, insecure, and morose, she nicknames him Gloomyhara, and gives him the gentle structure he needs at home to navigate his life of stardom. But just as she grows accustomed to his endearing fragile side, another facet appears! And Tamon’s B-Side, Hottiehara, challenges her resolve to keep her beloved idol at a distance and remain in the good graces of communal fandom.
As her neutral footing grows increasingly shaky, she begins to interact with the rest of the group’s temperamental idols and their beleaguered manager, and her perspectives regarding her place in this world of false fronts and ever-changing personalities get much more complicated.

Tamon’s B-Side pushes the visual boundaries of the typical rom-com into full fandom mania, with a profusion of hearts, flowers, and explosions of idol crush feelings. Juxtaposed with the proliferation of polka-dotted mushrooms and drizzling clouds over Gloomyhara, and the dazzling flirtatious charisma of Hottiehara, this anime boasts as much emotional effect as plot.
Bouncing between Tamon’s home life, onstage performances and behind the scenes interactions with the group, the viewer gets a heady dose of Kinoshita’s first hand experiences and high intensity reactions with the rotation of Tamon’s many sides only a high school girl can manage.

MANGA
Written and illustrated by Yuki Shiwasu, Tamon’s B-Side was initially a one-shot published in Hakusensha‘s Hana to Yume magazine on August 5, 2021. It began its serialization in the same magazine on October 20 of the same year. As of March 2026, fifteen tankōbon volumes have been released.
In February 2023, Viz Media announced that they licensed the series for English publication; the first volume was released on October 3 of the same year.
ANIME
The anime television series adaptation is produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Chika Nagaoka, with series composition and episode scripts written by Chiaki Nagai, characters designed by Yōko Itō, who also served as chief animation director, and music composed by Takashi Ōmama and Natsumi Tabuchi.
Crunchyroll is streaming the series in North America, while Medialink licensed the series in South, Southeast Asia and Oceania (except Australia and New Zealand) for streaming on Ani-One Asia’s YouTube channel.
